So with a steel connecting rod total piston-to-head clearance of 0.040-inch, then 0.040 + 0.010 = 0.050-inch for the intake valve.

The intake was at .083 clearance and the exhaust was at .085 clearance. My valve cutting tool is 2.3 diameter.

The Isky tool is good for "edge" cutting but not quite so good for doing deep, full circle cuts. It will do it....but its not the ideal tool. I would probably reccommend you take the pistons to a good shop and get them to cut the reliefs, you will most likely only have to cut for the intake ...
