網頁Finally coming to the definition of stem. It is, quite simply, the part of the word that remains if we remove any inflectional affix. It necessarily contains the root (s), and, in the simplest case, it coincides with the single root of the word. But in more complex cases, a stem can include derivational affixes and/or contain multiple roots.
